ZeroFin vs Xero: which fits a UAE startup?
Xero is the better choice if you want a mainstream English accounting system with UAE compliance: it is on the FTA software register, it sends UAE e-invoices through an accredited provider on its Starter plan and above, and it forecasts cash up to 180 days ahead. ZeroFin is the better fit if you want AI that drafts your entries for approval and answers burn and runway questions in plain English. Neither is in ZATCA's directory for Saudi e-invoicing.

Where is Xero stronger?
Xero is stronger as a complete UAE accounting system. Its current version is on the FTA register until March 2027, UAE e-invoicing is included from the Starter plan through an accredited provider, and it prepares the VAT return data and FTA Audit File. It forecasts cash 30 to 180 days ahead depending on the plan, handles multiple currencies on Premium, and connects to more than 1,000 apps.
Where is ZeroFin stronger?
ZeroFin is stronger if you want the AI to do the bookkeeping and answer founder questions. ZeroFin Mr. Accountant turns a sentence, a photo, a PDF or a voice note into a draft entry, and nothing posts until you approve it. ZeroFin Mr. CFO answers questions such as "how many months of runway do we have?" from your own ledger, on every plan. On the Growth plan and above, ZeroFin sends daily, weekly and monthly briefings by email, and can turn old bank statements and ledger exports into draft entries for review.

- work with an accountant who uses Xero
- want the cheapest entry plan ($7 Lite)
Choose ZeroFin if you…
- want AI to draft entries from text, photos, PDFs or voice for you to approve
- want plain-English answers on burn, runway and P&L
- need to turn old bank statements into draft entries (Growth and up)
- already send invoices from a compliant tool
What about Saudi Arabia?
Neither tool is set up for Saudi e-invoicing. Xero has no Saudi website and neither product was in ZATCA's solution provider directory on 30 October 2026. Saudi VAT rules also require records and tax invoices in Arabic. If you operate in Saudi Arabia, compare the Arabic-first tools in AI accounting software in Saudi Arabia.
What ZeroFin does not do (that Xero does in the UAE)
- ZeroFin is not an accredited e-invoicing provider and is not connected to one. Xero includes UAE e-invoicing through Casim from its Starter plan.
- ZeroFin is not on the FTA tax accounting software register and does not prepare VAT returns or the FTA Audit File.
- ZeroFin does not forecast cash flow; it answers burn and runway from your current books.

Is Xero FTA-accredited in the UAE?
Xero is on the FTA tax accounting software register, with its 2026 version valid until March 2027. For e-invoicing, Xero itself is not on the Ministry of Finance list of accredited providers; it routes UAE e-invoices through Casim, which is.
Is ZeroFin a Xero alternative in the UAE?
Partly. ZeroFin replaces the bookkeeping and finance-answers side with AI, but it has no UAE e-invoicing, VAT returns or FTA Audit File, which Xero includes. If you need those in one system, Xero is the better fit.
Does Xero have an AI CFO?
Xero's AI assistant is JAX, which its UAE site labels beta. It answers business questions and helps with tasks, and Xero says the ability to explore your financial data is rolling out region by region. ZeroFin Mr. CFO is built to answer burn, runway and P&L questions from your own books on every plan.
Can I use Xero in Saudi Arabia?
Xero has no Saudi website and was not in ZATCA's solution provider directory on 30 October 2026, so you would need a separate route for Phase 2 e-invoices. ZeroFin is not in the directory either.
